The Reason

I learned something from Jaron taking anatomy twice. That is that everything the body does really does have a purpose. Stuff like fevers fighting infections, fingernails helping protect our fingers, and I bet there's even a reason tears are salty, but I don't know why. I may not understand why our bodies work like they do, but there is a reason for it all.

This weekend, I made a discovery about why our bodies work how they do. You see, when you're pregnant (for those of you who haven't experienced it), you tend to not lose as much of you hair as you usually would. This is one of those things I've never understood the reason behind. It actually drove me nuts because I don't need poofier hair. It has all become clear to me, though.

As I was getting out of the shower the other day, I realized how uncomfortable it was becoming to bend over. Then I realized there wasn't any hair that I had to clean out of the shower drain. Then it came to me: that's the reason our hair doesn't fall out when we're pregnant. It's so that we don't have to deal with trying to bend over and get it out of the drain!

Life makes sense now.

Very Silly! I actually have a friend who loses MORE hair when she's pregnant. It's almost frightening how much she loses. I'm happy that you don't have to clean out the bathtub drain. I HATE doing that!

That's a great observation! I'm still in the clean it up part of post partum stuff, but I loved having much more hair! You know how little I have so that was a nice treat! But I panic the day it starts to fall out!
Hang in there, just another month and you'll be done!!! Yeah! Can't wait to see you guys again!

I like your theory. I had forgotten from the first time about losing less hair while pregnant, and have been cluelessly wondering what was going on-- I keep remembering instead how much is going to fall out after the baby is born. But goodness knows that bending over is well near impossible these days, so you must be right!

I love the way you're mind works. I'm feeling very enlightened!
