Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was spent cooking and relaxing.  There was a deer in the back yard, too!

The evening of Thanksgiving, Jaron realized he couldn't find his medinice bag.  It had his insulin and glucose meter.  We searched the entire house, the vehicles, suitcases, everywhere.  It was no where to be found.  He called Kalahari to see if someone had turned it in there.  Their lost-and-found person was gone until Sunday.  Apparently no one else could go check to see if it was there.  They were not helpful.  We spent awhile trying to get a hold of pharmacies to see if he could get a refill.  Our pharmacy (Smith's) was closed all day.  Walgreens was the only one open, but if they couldn't get a hold of Smith's, there was nothing they could do.  He called the doctors office to see if the on-call doctor could call in a prescription to Walgreens.  They wouldn't do anything because Jaron hadn't seen the on-call doctore before (it sounded more like no one wanted to be working on Thanksgiving, so they weren't going to bother).  They just told him to go to the ER.

Jaron figured he had enough insulin in his pump to get through the night and try the pharmacy again in the morning. Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of the lost medicine bag.
