Family Reunion *Updated*

Jaron's family had a reunion last weekend.  We were prepared for a fun evening of camping when his sister called to tell her adventure of their camping one night earlier.  You can read her story here (along with a little family update).  The campsite got flooded, so we had to find somewhere else.  We ended up in Green Canyon at a site with no close bridge across the river.  That's not usually a problem in Green Canyon, but it is this year with all the snow.  Here's how we ended up getting our stuff across.

Jaron and Bryce moved rocks into the river to step across, then we just passed gear over it.  Super fun.

It's a good thing Kaden and Kaylee are entertained by throwing rocks in the river.  It was a challenge for them to not hit anyone.

Of course, you can't camp without s'mores.  Yes, Kaden's doesn't have a top graham cracker and his marshmallow isn't toasted.  I'm sure it was still awesome.

The next morning, the kids went on a bear hunt.

I didn't get a picture of it, but we didn't SEE a real bear.  There was a bear that left gummy bears all over the trees, though!  Kaden is still convinced that Grandpa was the bear, even though he was carrying Kaylee most of the time.  Thanks, Mr. (or Mrs.) Bear!

Next, we headed to Terra's house for horses and food.  More importantly, the trampoline.  This kept Kaden entertained a lot!

Aunt Meghan was super nice to play with Kaylee on the trampoline.

Then the horses.  Kaden and Kaylee really wanted to ride.

So, Kaden went with Rhiannon first.

Then he hadn't had enough and decided to brave it by himself.  He did awesome!

Kaylee rode with daddy and I think she liked it.  She kept saying "Ehaw, Ehaw."

*UPDATE*
I'm not a fan of horses, but here's proof that I rode.

Next up, the Nelson Family Food Fight.  We were given three ingredients - peanut butter, marshmallows, and peppers - and had to make something that included all of them.  These are PMS cookies and they won!  We did fudge a little with peppers and use peppermints.  They're pretty good, though :)

And finally, we had a rubber duck derby where the kids had to blow on their ducks and get them to the other side of the pool.

Kaden managed to almost fall in the pool, but he won!

He was just a little wet for the ride home.

We had to leave before the adults got going, but I'm sure it was a blast.  Thanks for a fun reunion!
